Chambers announces the appointment of Kate Boxall as Compliance & Health & Safety Manager for The Fruitery, the company’s recently launched prepared fruit division.
Kate, who joined the business in April 2019, has an established track record in quality control/compliance for the fresh produce sector, having previously spent two years as a Compliance Manager at Fruition Packing and 18 months in a quality control role for Berry Gardens.
A former student at Hadlow, where she completed a Certificate in Food Industry Skills apprenticeship course while working in the industry, Kate comes from a fruit farming family so the decision to work in the fresh produce sector represents a natural move. Since finishing her apprenticeship, Kate has also completed her Level 2 HACCP for Food Manufacturing and Level 3 Supervising Health & Safety in the Workplace.
The newly created position at The Fruitery will see Kate use her skills to ensure the business stays on track in terms of the myriad health & safety protocols associated with a prepared fruit site. Commenting on the role, Kate says, “The high care facility at The Fruitery represents a £2 million investment and The Fruitery is committed to providing a seamless supply of quality prepared fruit year-round, therefore this job is pivotal to the continued success of the business. Our customers– multiples and foodservice outlets – demand the very highest standards in terms of the quality and traceability of the product supplied and we need to be confident in our ability to not just meet but exceed these expectations by having in place the tightest compliance control measures across all critical points of our operations.”
Kate will report into Chambers Group Technical Director Rupert Carter and The Fruitery’s Operation Manager Andrée King.
